Electrical wiring simulator
Electrical Wiring Simulator for Apprentices
Practice electrical wiring online with WireMate. Build lighting circuits, switching layouts, testing examples and fault-finding workflows in a browser-based simulator.
Then $5.99 AUD/month. Cancel anytime.

Why it helps
Understand the circuit before testing your prediction.
WireMate gives apprentices and students a safe place to practise wiring logic before they are under pressure on a real board. You can build circuits, connect terminals, test readings and repeat the process until the path of the current makes sense.
Skills
What you can practise in the simulator
One-way lighting
Follow the feed through one switch to the lamp, then identify the return path.
Two-way switching
Identify each common terminal and test the two strapper paths through all four switch combinations.
Multi-gang switching
Operate each switch separately and check which load its output controls.
Fan control
Compare the controller state and fan response in the representative fixed-load example.
Series and parallel
Distinguish one shared current path from separate branches, then predict the meter readings.
Measurement
Measure voltage between two points and use a series ammeter to inspect branch current.
Fault-finding
Compare the observed symptom with the circuit path. Pro adds the Find the 2 Faults bench.
Neat Mode
Clean up cable routing while retaining the same terminal connections and electrical behaviour.
Worked simulation example
Predict a series circuit before measuring it
In Pro → Essential circuits, choose DC series circuit. The completed example uses a 48 V DC supply with 20 Ω and 30 Ω resistors in one path.
1. Add the resistances
For these ideal series loads, total resistance is 20 Ω + 30 Ω = 50 Ω.
2. Predict the current
I = V ÷ R = 48 V ÷ 50 Ω = 0.96 A. The same current passes through both resistors.
3. Compare voltage drops
V = I × R gives 19.2 V across 20 Ω and 28.8 V across 30 Ω. Together they equal 48 V.
What to look for: Check the simulated readings against your prediction, then open one connection with power off and explain why the complete current path is lost.
These are ideal DC predictions. Added cable resistance or changed component settings can alter the displayed values. This is simulation practice, not installation design.

Quick answers
Common questions
Is WireMate an online electrical wiring simulator?
Yes. WireMate runs in the browser and lets apprentices practise wiring circuits, switching, testing and fault-finding examples online.
Does WireMate replace licensed training?
No. WireMate is an educational low-voltage simulator. It supports practice and revision, but it does not replace licensed training, supervision, Australian Standards or site procedures.
Can students start with a trial?
Creating an account is free. Eligible new subscribers can choose a 3-day trial through Stripe Checkout with a payment method. Basic then renews at $5.99 AUD/month; Pro renews at $9.99 AUD/month unless cancelled before the trial ends.
